OOTDBuy Fees & Shipping Cost Guide.

Start with a quote breakdown: the current official notice includes an 8% service fee in foreign-currency goods quotations and an 8% fee in shipping quotations. Declaration handling and other applicable charges are separate. The final amount also depends on your parcel and destination.

What the official quotation includes

The official Service & Fees notice, checked 22 October 2026, defines goods cost as the merchandise price plus Chinese domestic freight. An 8% fee applies to that base and another 8% fee to international shipping. These are included in the respective foreign-currency quotations; do not add them again to an already inclusive amount.

Costs to separate before comparing offers
CostHow to treat it
Goods and Chinese domestic freightGoods-cost base, with its 8% service fee embedded in the foreign-currency quote.
International shippingDynamic parcel quote, with its own 8% service fee embedded.
Customs declaration serviceNormally CNY 8 per outbound international parcel; final rate depends on the channel terms and is charged separately.
Optional insurance or requested QC inspectionConfirm the chosen service, coverage or inspection scope and charge.
Import duties and other exceptional chargesSeparate from declaration handling; check destination rules and the circumstances of the order.

A declaration service fee is not an import tax and does not guarantee customs clearance. A product-card USD estimate on this site is a catalog estimate, not proof that every fee above has been included.

Check the packed weight and size

An item’s warehouse weight may not include the final box and protective packaging. Ask whether a quote uses the item weight or the weight of the packed parcel.

Shoe boxes, protective materials and bulky clothing can change the parcel’s weight and dimensions. Repacking may reduce volume, but check which packaging will be removed and whether the item will still be protected.

Understand how the service charges for size

Some shipping services use volumetric weight, which is a weight calculated from the parcel’s dimensions. Depending on the service, a large, light parcel can cost more than its actual weight suggests.

Check the selected service’s formula, units, minimum charges and weight rules. An estimate based on guessed dimensions can change after packing or reweighing, so confirm how any difference is charged or refunded.

When checking a quote, ask for the actual packed weight, the parcel dimensions and the chargeable weight used by the service. If the chargeable figure differs from the weight on the scale, ask which size-based or minimum-charge rule explains it. Keep the units with every figure.

Use the correct destination and service

Select the country where you will receive the parcel. Check the shipping options for its actual contents, including product restrictions, parcel size limits and any insurance terms.

Confirm the current price and estimated delivery time for that service and destination. Prices and delivery estimates can change, and an estimate does not guarantee an arrival date. See the customs and tax guide for import-related checks.

Compare quotes using the same details

If you are comparing one combined parcel with separate parcels, use the same items and realistic packing information. Include any extra minimum charges or service fees so the totals are comparable.

Save the quote date, destination, contents, packed weight, dimensions and included services. Confirm the final amount and check the items’ storage deadlines before arranging shipping.

Compare packing choices before approving them

For example, you may be comparing a parcel that keeps the original shoe boxes with one that uses less packaging. Ask for the expected packed size, weight and price under each available option. Also consider whether you want the original packaging and how the shoes will be protected.

If you compare a combined parcel with separate parcels, include the full charges for both plans. Lower volume in one plan does not establish a lower overall cost when minimum charges, handling and other services differ.

Keep this information with the final quote and your selected packaging instructions. If the parcel contents or service change, check the updated quote using the new details before paying.

Check the final quote before shipping

Compare the final quote with the estimate for the same items, packaging and route. Check any difference in chargeable weight, selected services and destination charges before paying.

If you are waiting to combine purchases, check each item’s deadline in the warehouse storage guide. Compare the full cost of one combined parcel with shipping the ready items separately.

Calculate the cost with comparable inputs

The numbers below are teaching examples, not transactions, live rates or guaranteed savings. Keep all amounts in the same currency and distinguish a pre-fee base from an inclusive quotation.

A complete subtotal without counting the fee twice

Illustrative CNY-equivalent cost breakdown
ComponentCalculation
Merchandise and domestic freight200 + 10 = 210
Goods component including the embedded fee210 × 1.08 = 226.80
International shipping including the embedded fee100 × 1.08 = 108.00
Subtotal with declaration service226.80 + 108.00 + 8 = 342.80

The 8% fees and normally CNY 8 declaration service follow the official notice checked 22 October 2026. The bases above are hypothetical. The CNY-equivalent calculation explains the rule; the actual payable foreign-currency quote and conversion are determined by the platform. Add any selected optional services and applicable destination charges separately. Do not add another 8% to an inclusive quote.

Why a lighter parcel may have a higher chargeable weight

DHL Express’s weight and dimensions guide uses length × width × height in cm ÷ 5000 for volumetric kg and compares that with actual weight. Checked 22 October 2026. This is a carrier-specific reference, not a promise that every OOTDBuy route uses that divisor.

Hypothetical packing options using a divisor of 5000
Packing optionWeight comparison
Larger box: 40 × 30 × 20 cm; actual 3 kg40 × 30 × 20 ÷ 5000 = 4.8 kg; greater weight: 4.8 kg
Smaller box: 35 × 25 × 18 cm; actual 3 kg35 × 25 × 18 ÷ 5000 = 3.15 kg; greater weight: 3.15 kg

If a hypothetical service rounds up in 0.5 kg steps, those figures become 5 kg and 3.5 kg. Confirm the chosen route’s divisor, rounding, minimum and restrictions. Compare actual quotes plus repacking costs; the weight difference alone does not establish a money saving. Keep enough protection for shoes and structured bags.

Compare one combined parcel with separate parcels

Use the same contents and destination. Add every parcel’s inclusive shipping quote, declaration charge and selected packing costs. Then compare with the consolidated quote using its final dimensions. Separate parcels may each trigger a declaration charge or minimum shipping charge; consolidation can also increase size or cross a route limit.

Save the quote date, currency, packed measurements and included services. Ask how a reweighing difference will be settled. Check the destination charges and each item’s storage deadline before deciding.
