How to compare hoodies and sweatshirts

Separate body measurements from garment measurements

Nike’s official men’s tops chart uses body measurements. A seller’s flat chest-width measurement describes a different thing. Check the chart heading and measuring diagram before comparing numbers. Reference checked 22 October 2026.

For a flat garment comparison, lay your reference hoodie down without stretching it. Compare chest width, length and sleeve measurement taken from the same starting point. A dropped shoulder can change the sleeve starting point; use the size and fit guide rather than automatically sizing up.

Use fabric information alongside the construction

Ask for composition, whether the inside is brushed, and any stated fabric weight. GSM describes fabric mass per area; the packed weight of a hoodie cannot tell you its GSM. Read the hoodie GSM comparison for the limits of that number.

  • Compare pullover and zip-up construction, pocket layout and hood shape.
  • Check cuffs, hem, seams and the placement of prints or embroidery in close-up photos.
  • Request flat measurements if fit is uncertain; a package dimension is not a garment measurement.

Match the QC record to the selected option

The hoodie QC record case explains why shipping dimensions do not establish fit. Public QC photos relate to past orders; review your own warehouse photos before dispatch.

The official inspection notice covers checks such as quantity, color and size specifications, while excluding size error and usage effect from its inspection scope. Ask for the measurement you need rather than assuming a label check includes a fit assessment. Checked 22 October 2026.
